It is assumed that when one studies abroad he just wants to slack off and party in another country. But I intend to do that AND progress with my degree! (And for those of you who are not sure, my intended degree is English with a concentration in creative writing.) The courses which shall occupy me when I am not inebriated on one of the beautiful local beaches are:
Australian Literature (gotta see what the continent has to offer)
Shakespeare Renaissance Drama (let's hope UCLA will accept the credit for this one)
Logic and Reasoning (GE credit)
and last... Australian Representations, which will explore Aboriginal culture and different ways Australians are represented and represent themselves in the world.
So, that should be good. Nothing too daunting, but enough to keep me busy. Also, I intend to be working throughout the semester, so look forward to a post about job hunting.
Love,
Miles
P.s. For those of you who worry and because I am sure sarcasm does not come through very well in text format, I will not be inebriated most of the time I am here. My sisters will confirm that for me to be drunk would be quite noteworthy. Something else to look forward to ;D (preview of drunken blogging: "leov u alll havng fun studeying hardd miels =)")
